Junior Professors and Junior Research Groups
The Department of Mathematics was one of the first departments to use the junior professorship as an instrument for promoting excellent young scientists. Since then, 17 junior professorships have been filled at the department; 16 of the candidates have afterwards already been appointed to permanent positions at universities:
