The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) has decided to fund a new trans-regional collaborative research centre (SFB-TRR 195) "Symbolic Tools in Mathematics and their Application" coordinated by TU Kaiserslautern (starting in January 2017). Co-applicant institutions are RWTH Aachen University and Saarland University. After successful second evaluation the SFB-TRR 195 is in the third funding period at the moment.

In the SFB-TRR scientists of the Algebra, Geometry and Computer Algebra Group collaborate with scientists at RWTH Aachen University, Saarland University, TU Berlin, TU Darmstadt, the Universities of Siegen, Stuttgart and Tübingen.
