Japanese-German Open Conference on Stochastic Analysis 2017 takes places at TUK
From 4 to 8 September 2017, the Department of Mathematics hosted the "Japanese-German Open Conference on Stochastic Analysis 2017". This conference into the tradition of comparable events, such as 2005 in Bielefeld / Bonn, 2006 in Kyoto, 2007 in Berlin, 2008 in Fukuoka, 2012 in Okayama, 2013 in Leipzig and 2015 in Sendai.
The organizers, Prof. Dr. Martin Grothaus (TUK), Prof. Dr. Michael Röckner (Universität Bielefeld), Dr. Wolfgang Bock (TUK) and Dr. Torben Fattler (TUK), could welcome 75 international scientists in Kaiserslautern, including 32 researchers from Japan. In addition, researchers from Great Britain, Korea, Romania and the USA were among the participants. The conference discussed the latest developments in the field of stochastic analysis and further encouraged scientific exchange between research groups.
In particular, the conference served to consolidate existing contacts and to integrate young scientists into existing structures. In this way, the Japanese-German cooperation should be maintained in the future and linked to the successes of the past. In addition, the conference served as a focal point for scientific exchange and cooperation within the international research community for the sustainable strengthening of Germany as a location.
The "Japanese-German Open Conference on Stochastic Analysis 2017" was financially supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
