Prof. Dr. Nicolas Gauger named AIAA Associate Fellow
At the AIAA SciTech in San Diego, Prof. Dr. Gauger has been awarded an Associate Fellowship of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is the largest aerospace science organization, with more than 30.000 members worldwide. AIAA publishes several scientific journals. In addition, AIAA organizes numerous conferences throughout the year. The largest conference is the AIAA Forum for Science and Technology in Aerospace ("AIAA SciTech").
The award of an "AIAA Associate Fellowship" honors outstanding individuals who have made particularly notable and valuable contributions to aerospace research.
Prof. Dr. Gauger was honored for his outstanding contributions to aerodynamic and aerodynamic design optimization. His mathematical research focuses on the optimization of partial differential equations; aerospace is his main field of application. From 1998 to 2010, he was a scientist at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). After an intermediate position as a professor at RWTH Aachen University, he finally moved to TUK in 2014.
