From November 30 to December 5, Claudia Redenbach (as co-organizer), Katja Schladitz, and Christian Jung participated in the Dagstuhl Seminar Generalized Voronoi Diagrams and Applications. The seminar focused on the interdisciplinary exchange between invited researchers from the fields of stochastic geometry, computational geometry, and numerous application areas such as materials science.

During the seminar, Claudia gave an overview presentation on random tessellations, based on the book chapter “Random Tessellations -- An Overview of Models” (in Stochastic Geometry: Percolation, Tesselations, Gaussian Fields and Point Processes). Christian's presentation covered current research topics related to modeling various microstructures using (generalized) Voronoi tessellations, including modeling crack structures in concrete and particles in active protective coatings.

There were also opportunities for exchange during a joint hike and during special workshops, including those on the algorithms of generalized Voronoi tessellations and current research topics in materials science.
