Compact Course: Scientific Computing and High-Performance Computing
As part of a compact course held by Prof. Dr. Nicolas Gauger and the associated member of the graduate school Jan Rottmayer, the doctoral researchers of the graduate school were given insights into the work of the Scientific Computing group.
Current research projects as well as central methods of the group were presented, in particular Bayesian optimization for the optimization of airfoils.
The course was complemented by an introduction to the high-performance computing infrastructure at RPTU, including a tour of the Elwetritsch computing cluster and insights into its use in everyday research.
