FOR 5492: project meeting in Hinterstoder

The two research group members Rozan Rosandi and Jeremias Arf took part in the spring meeting of the DFG Research Unit FOR 5492 in Hinterstoder (Austria). At the meeting, current results were presented and the further course of action within the research network was coordinated. The FOR brings together researchers from five universities who work on developing new mesh‑generation and discretization techniques in the field of finite element analysis.

The Kaiserslautern group, led by Prof. Simeon, is currently focusing on investigating new approximation methods for so‑called shell structures in continuum mechanics; see also our ECMI blog post.
