KOMMS is the Competence Center for Mathematical Modelling in STEM projects in Schools. It was established to connect school projects, teacher trainings, education of teacher students and research.
Mathematical modelling competencies are fostered by school projects like Modelling Days or -Weeks. New ways of implementing STEM education in schools are studied in long term projects like the Junior Engineering Academy.
Teacher tainings are closely connected to practical experience. In the context of STEM education - which is an important aspect of future oriented learning - we see ourselves as supporters of the state Rhineland Palatinate.
